Free Presentation About The New Oklahoma STABLE Program

HOME of HOPE is hosting a free, public presentation and Q & A about the new Oklahoma STABLE program launched May 2018 to allow Oklahomans with disabilities the opportunity to save and invest money without jeopardizing need-based benefit programs such as Medicaid and SSI.

Wednesday, July 25, 2018

1:00pm - 3:00pm

Home of Hope Community Room

960 West Hope Road, Vinita, OK

Parking is available behind the building. Please RSVP to Misty Bingham at (918) 256-7825 ext. 168 or to assure enough materials are prepared.

The presentation will cover the basics of the program and how to enroll and manage an account. Under the Oklahoma STABLE program, people with disabilities may save up to $15,000 per year. In addition, investment earnings when used for qualified disability expenses are free from state and federal taxes. Qualified expenses include rent and housing, transportation, education, employment training and support, assistive technology, and many other approved expenses.

Our presenter will be Tim Allen, Deputy State Treasurer for Communications and Program Administration, one of three members of State Treasurer Ken Miller’s leadership team and responsible for all media, public relations, and marketing efforts under the treasurer’s office. Tim has primary oversight of the Oklahoma STABLE program and the Oklahoma College Savings Plan. He also manages advertising of the state’s Unclaimed Property Program. He is a native of Ponca City and a graduate of Oklahoma State University.

We welcome all individuals with disabilities, parents & guardians, service providers and other community members interested in learning about the eligibility and benefits of this program.
