The Registered Apprenticeship Workshop is a planned activity of the Northeast Workforce Board and key partners, as efforts are underway to initiate sector strategies in manufacturing and healthcare. The Northeast Workforce Board submitted application and was awarded the 2018 Sector Partnership Grant for Local Workforce Development Boards from the Oklahoma Office of Workforce Development. This grant opportunity was a competitive selection process based on a review of all of the required elements and documentation outlined in the funding proposal.

The purpose of the Sector Partnership Grant is to support Local Workforce Boards in planning and executing two or more sector partnerships and/or sector strategies. The partnerships and strategies are employer-led and focus on healthcare and manufacturing. Additional strategies include the following:

  1. Increased Educational Attainment

  2. The expansion of Registered Apprenticeship programs and other work-based learning opportunities

  3. Filling occupations on the Local Area’s and State’s Critical Occupations lists.
