Several judges were out this past weekend and selected winners of the 2017 Vinita Christmas Lighting Contest, sponsored by the Vinita Area Chamber of Commerce and the Vinita Daily Journal.
The winner of the Best Overall Lights category is 339 N. Adair, the home of Chuck and Stephanie Hoskin.
The winner of the Most Appealing to Children is 335 Sunset Drive, the home of Richard and Carla Abbott.
The winner of the Best Religious Theme is 326 S. Smith, the Jim and Mary Bible home.
The winner of the Most Unusual is 435 N. Brewer, the home of Kenneth and Kim Cochran.
The winner of the Best Commercial Lighting is First National Bank
The winner of the Chamber’s Pick is 1005 W. Canadian the home of Jot and Renee Hartley.
The winner of the Journal’s Pick is 945 N. Skyline Dr. the home of Casey McCabe.
Other addresses which received honorable mentions included: 910 N. Skyline, 437 N. Thompson, 132/134 S. Brown, 505 N. Brewer, 1110 Meadow Drive, 203 N. Gunter, 119 Prairie Lane, and 515 N. Thompson.
Each home and business winner will appear on the front page of the Journal this week and next, and each winner will receive a color 8X10 photo. Winners are asked to be sure and have their lights on this week so that photos can be taken. Photos can be picked up at the chamber office on Friday.
