Punkin Chunkin Includes Dutch Oven Competition

The Vinita Area Chamber of Commerce announced today that the 4th annual Route 66 Punkin Chunkin Festival will include a Dutch oven competition. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, at John’s Tractor Works, 444934 US Hwy 60/66 in Vinita. The challenge is simple: who can cook pumpkin the best. The cost to compete is $25.00 per team. The fee includes festival wristbands for each team member. Teams can register online at www.vinita.com/events or call the VACC office at (918) 256-7133. VACC Looking To Hire Administrative Assistant

The Vinita Area Chamber of Commerce is now seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join the VACC staff. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and posses a valid Oklahoma driver's license. Pre-screening includes a criminal background check and drug screen. All Settlers’ Day Reunion

The All Settlers’ Day Reunion is an afternoon of friendship, music, and food. An opportunity to sit down and catch up with old friends, neighbors, and classmates. The event will take place on August 22 at the Craig County Fairgrounds & Community Center from 12:30pm to 3:00pm. The event is the oldest continuous community celebration in Craig County. Voter registration deadline for State Runoff Primary approaches

The deadline to register for the Aug. 28 State Runoff Primary Election is Friday, Oklahoma State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax said today. Voters have until Friday, Aug. 3 to register to vote, change their address or update other registration information before the Statewide Runoff Primary. Voter registration forms, used to change any registration information, can be downloaded from the Oklahoma State Election Board’s website at http://elections.ok.gov. They are also available at county election boards, post offices, tag agencies, libraries and some other public locations.
